Description
Celebrate National Train Day at the Historic Hendersonville Depot on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Bring the family and view the HO scale model trains in the Depot depicting railroading in Western North Carolina from the mid 1950’s to the mid 1960’s. See a live diesel locomotive courtesy of the Blue Ridge Southern Railroad and learn the history of railroading in Western North Carolina. There is also a garden railroad trackside that depicts gravel and timber operations during the 1900’s. Admission is free and open to the public. Hours are 10am to 2pm.
